NJUNE 2009 SEES THE RELEASE PF MAGGIE'S FIFTH SOLO CD.IT IS CALLED "A FAGAIL MHIUGHALAIGH", Leaving Mingulay(MARCD05).;-Maggie tells the story of the island of Mingulay through music and song.Mingulay lies about Twelve miles south of Barra in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and was last inhabited in 1912.Maggie has included some of the music she put together for a BBC documentary about the island produced by MNE Media.The material includes both traditional songs, which were part of the island's rich oral traditionand,and original melodies composed by Maggie.

Maggie's great-grandparents were from Mingulay and she has always had a fascination for the island.The struggle of the Mingulay people to survive in such a remote,windswept,beautiful but harsh place in a fast changing world is a powerful and moving story.

Guests on the CD include,Michael McGoldrick(of Capercaillie);Brian McAlpine(of SessionA9);Anna Massie(of The Anna Massie Band and Blazing Fiddles);Marie Fielding;Finlay MacDonald(of the Finlay MacDonald Band);Christine Hanson;Kevin McKenzie;Frank McGuire and backing vocals from Maggie's mum,Flora MacNeil and Alison Buchanan.

JULY,2009;- HARRIS ARTS FESTIVAL
Maggie is returning for the second year in a row to perform at the Community Centre in Tarbert,Harris on Tuesday 27th July,2009.She will be appearing with Brian McAlpine on Keyboards and accordian.

AUGUST 2009 FESTIVAL INTERCELTIQUE,LORIENT,BRITTANY,FRANCE
Maggie will be returning for the sixth or seventh time to the wonderful Interceltic festival in Brittany.She will be appearing with her Trio (including Brian McAlpine on Keyboards and Accordian and Anna Massie on Guitar) on 6th and 8th.
